Iran will rely on its own Security software, bans foreign anti-virus

Iran has prohibited import of foreign computer security software, says Reza Taghipour, Iran's Information and Communications Technology Minister.

Few days back, Iranian intelligence official said an estimated 16,000 computers were infected by the Stuxnet virus, but did not specify whether worldwide or just in Iran.

Taghipour stressed that no foreign security solutions will be imported into the country, Iran will develop its own Security softwares, developed by Iran's programmers.

He added that domestic security programs have been improving, and Iran will use them, instead of foreign security software, which cannot be trusted.

He also said the The Bonian Daneshpajouhan Institute has about 25 smaller firms that develop domestic security software of various nature, and country will rely on it.

r00tw0rm hack and leaked United Nations Environment Programme database

A Hackers group known as r00tw0rm hacked into the website belong to United Nations Environment Programme and leaked 82.8MB database.  The leaked database is uploaded in different file hosting service including rapdishare, depositfiles.

r00tw0rm announced the attack and post a link to leak in twitter account. The leak contains 5 databases and 100's of tables with admin logins and users data.

At the time of writing this article, the unep.org website is down and displays a "Service Unavailable" message.

#WikiLeaks publishes over 5 million STRATFOR emails - #gifiles

Wikileaks has begun publishing more than five million emails from private intelligence firm STRATFOR. The group claimed that those emails date from between July 2004 and late December.

"They reveal the inner workings of a company that fronts as an intelligence publisher, but provides confidential intelligence services to large corporations, such as Bhopal’s Dow Chemical Co., Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon and government agencies, including the US Department of Homeland Security, the US Marines and the US Defense Intelligence Agency. The emails show Stratfor’s web of informers, pay-off structure, payment-laundering techniques and psychological methods" Wikileaks said in the press release.

WikiLeaks has partnered with 25 media organizations to sift, analyze and publish those emails: It lists the Indian paper The Hindu , the McClatchy News Agency, the Italian newspaper L’Espresso and among them.

Interestingly , the Wiki leaks has partnered with Anonymous Hackitivists ; Twitter accounts belong to Anonymous members announced that they gave the compromised data to WikiLeaks.

Members of Anonymous believed to have direct knowledge of the hack told Wired that WikiLeaks was attractive because it could spread leaked information better than Anonymous could. “WikiLeaks has great means to publish and disclose,” the Anonymous member told Wired. “Also, they work together with media in a way we don’t. ... Basically, WikiLeaks is the ideal partner for such stuff.”

Anonymous take down Interpol website in retaliation for 25 arrests

Supporters of the Anonymous Hackers group take down the official webstie of Interpol  , after  international police group announced it had arrested 25 suspected anonymous members.

The website www.Interpol.int was unreachable at the time of writing.  This could have been the result of a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack by Anonymous . Twitter accounts belong to anonymous hackers tweet "TANGO DOWN -interpol.int"

The attacks came as Interpol announced the arrests of 25 suspected Anonymous hackers across globe. The arrests were part of Operation Unmask, during which police in Colombia, Argentina, Chile and Spain seized computers, mobile phones, credit cards and cash at 40 locations in 15 cities.  

In a separate incident, police in Spain arrested four other suspected supporters of Anonymous, accused of taking websites offline and leaking sensitive data.

Universal Music sites from Sweden &Portugal hacked by Sepo : #OpSweden

An Eastern European hacker , SEPO hacked into the official websites of Universal Music Portugal (universalmusic.pt) and Universal Music Sweden (universalmusic.se)

Hacker compromised the database belong to the Universal Music Portugal and leaked the database details in his own blog.

The security breach of Universal Music Sweden was part of an operation called "OpSweden", an operation launched by Anonymous Sweden.

The database leak contain important details including database structure, customer email id, username, encrypted passwords.

Hackers also compromised and leaked the database belong to Nissan Motors in Columbia and Kalmar Airport websites
